Soulmates

Re. soulmates and what happens after death, one idea from Daaji and previous Masters is that whichever subtlest vibratory level your mind reaches - and can attain repeatedly while living - is the realm to which the subtle body goes at death of the physical body.

If there is no systematic spiritual practice, the subtle body gets embodied again in the same vibratory realm - as another human being or lower being.

There is continuous eternal evolution with many Brighter Worlds (like svarga; deva = bright one).

But as in Jonathan Livingston Seagull, the subtler the world, the lesser its population since fewer humans know or are interested,
let alone practising daily to reach subtler and subtler levels regularly.

The corollary of eternal evolution is therefore that once learnt, regular inward activity becomes as natural as outward activity.

Reaching a subtler vibratory level needs, first, a change in direction of attention - outward to inward.

Then, relinquishing - of frenetic, overdriven, and yet habitual inner activity.

Next, staying there until comfortable and understanding and becoming a resident of the present vibratory realm. This is also known as
4 levels of merger/laya with that realm - salokyata, samīpyata, sarūpyata, sāyūjyata.

Then, relinquishing or negativating or subtilizing even that realm to reach the next subtler level.
Lather. Rinse. Repeat :-)

(A neat consistent progression from grosser to subtler may not be what actually occurs since one may jump intervening realms, regress to grosser ones temporarily, or even get stuck in a gross realm - as is happening now.)

As long as one is embodied, one's attention must return from subtle realms to the grossest one - the normal human world - for normal living.

There are stories and plots and adventures, heroes and villains, even at subtler levels, so going beyond those to a simpler, direct, purely evolutionary progression of all beings where separative and separate individuality reduces, is also work in progress.

In general, though, soulmates form a cohort of beings who are evolving together purposefully.

They may choose to become embodied with complementary characteristics rather than matching ones for their shared evolution.

Thus, cordially or intensely disliking each other can trigger and unwind shared emotional residues, especially those across lifetimes.
So, one may immediately like or dislike someone at first sight in this life due to emotional triggers or residues from previous lives.

Letting the resulting thoughts and emotions come up and dissipate as harmlessly as possible (as a witness and not a participant) causes those triggers to disappear forever.

Thus, increased emotional stability or maturity and reduced reactivity are signs of attaining subtler vibratory states. But this should be natural and not stressful, without suppression. And it shows up clearly with systematic inner and inward practice.

And re. soulmates, along with the negatives and complementary ones mentioned above, the positive mates offer succour, confidence, and boost emotional resilience, intellectual learning and understanding. One feels so much relief and lightness on being with a soulmate.

A true guru is also a soulmate. He combines the best of motherly and fatherly love and care, but in a surprisingly universal and detached way. His loving interactions leave no emotional residues or stickiness and the seeker evolves to greater and greater independence and maturity.
